2.2 Information We Collect Automatically

When you use the Service, we may automatically collect:

• Log data (IP address, pages visited, time and date of visits, referring URL)
• Usage data (features used, coffee chats completed, connection activity)
• Cookies and similar tracking technologies to maintain session state and improve the Service

If you connect a third-party account (such as LinkedIn) or sign in using a third-party service, we may receive information from that service consistent with your privacy settings there.

3. How We Use Your Information

• Match you with other users for coffee chats and networking

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising purposes on behalf of third parties.

4. How We Share Your Information

4.1 With Other Users

Your profile information (name, photo, major, headline, bio, career goals, and school) is visible to other First Sip users in accordance with your privacy settings. Messages you send are visible to the recipient(s). Content posted in community groups is visible to group members.

4.2 With Service Providers

We may share your information with trusted third-party service providers who help us operate the platform, including:

• Supabase (database and authentication infrastructure)
• Vercel (hosting and deployment)
• Email service providers for transactional notifications

These providers are contractually obligated to use your information only to provide services to us and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

4.3 For Legal Reasons

We may disclose your information if required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of First Sip, its users, or the public.

4.4 Business Transfers

If First Sip is acquired or merges with another entity, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a materially different privacy policy.

• Profile visibility: Control who can see your profile through Settings > Privacy
• Discovery: Opt out of appearing in Discover or matching suggestions
• Notifications: Manage email and in-app notification preferences in Settings
• Account deletion: Permanently delete your account through Settings > Danger Zone

7. Cookies and Tracking

First Sip uses cookies and similar technologies to maintain your session, remember your preferences, and understand how users interact with the platform. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling cookies may affect the functionality of the Service.

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction, including encrypted data transmission, secure authentication, and access controls.

However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. Please use a strong, unique password and notify us immediately if you suspect your account has been compromised.

Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

Welcome to First Sip. By accessing or using the First Sip platform, mobile application, or any related services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

First Sip is operated by Salvatore Altadonna ("we," "us," or "our"). These Terms apply to all users of the Service, including students, recent graduates, alumni, and any other visitors.

2. Eligibility

To use First Sip, you must:

• Be at least 13 years of age (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction if higher)
• Be currently enrolled at, or a graduate of, an accredited college or university
• Provide a valid .edu email address or otherwise verify your student or alumni status
• Not have been previously suspended or removed from the Service

By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements.

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Creation

To access most features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate, complete, and current information during registration and to keep your account information up to date.

3.2 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at sal@firstsipapp.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

3.3 One Account Per Person

You may only maintain one active First Sip account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent suspensions or platform limits is strictly prohibited.

4. The First Sip Platform

4.1 What First Sip Provides

First Sip is a professional networking platform designed to help college students and recent graduates build authentic career connections through coffee chats, messaging, and community groups. The Service includes:

• Profile creation and discovery features
• Coffee chat scheduling and matching
• Direct messaging between connected users
• Community groups organized by major, industry, or interest
• Feed and activity updates

4.2 No Employment Guarantee

First Sip is a networking platform only. We make no guarantees that use of the Service will result in employment, internships, mentorship opportunities, or any specific career outcome.

4.3 Coffee Chats

First Sip facilitates scheduling of casual professional conversations between users. These meetings take place between users independently. First Sip is not a party to any meeting or arrangement made between users through the platform.

5. User Conduct

You agree not to use First Sip to:

• Harass, bully, threaten, or intimidate other users
• Post false, misleading, or fraudulent information on your profile
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any school or organization
• Spam, solicit, or send unsolicited commercial messages to other users
• Share content that is obscene, defamatory, discriminatory, or otherwise objectionable
• Scrape or collect user data without our express written consent
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or another user's account
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law

We reserve the right to remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these standards, at our sole discretion.

6. Content You Post

6.1 Your Content

You retain ownership of content you post on First Sip. By posting content on the Service, you grant First Sip a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, display, and distribute your content as necessary to operate and improve the Service.

6.2 Content Standards

You are solely responsible for the content you post. Content must be accurate, lawful, and not infringe upon the rights of any third party. First Sip does not endorse any user-submitted content.

6.3 Removal of Content

We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms or that we determine is harmful to users or the platform.

7. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of your information as described in our Privacy Policy.

8. Intellectual Property

The First Sip name, logo, platform design, and all related content (excluding user-generated content) are the intellectual property of First Sip and its operator. You may not use, reproduce, or distribute any First Sip intellectual property without our prior written consent.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FIRST SIP DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, FIRST SIP AND ITS OPERATOR SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.

12. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without cause and without notice, including if we believe you have violated these Terms.

You may delete your account at any time through the Settings page. Some data may be retained as required by law or for legitimate business purposes as described in our Privacy Policy.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the app. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts located in New Jersey.
